While the comedic comedy Don’t Look Up continues to dominate the movie charts on Netflix, the second season of The Witcher is taking on Cobrai Kai and Emily in Paris. Here’s an overview of the latest streaming numbers…. To add to the hype surrounding the new season of The Witcher and the star-studded disaster flick “Don’t Look Up,” Netflix is now presenting tangible figures (if you can believe them). In the week of January 3-9, the comedy starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence and Meryl Streep topped the in-house streaming charts for the third week in a row – since its Christmas premiere. 58.2 million hours are said to have been accumulated in the said period. Significantly more than “Mother/Android” in second place with 29.73 million. In the eternal top 10 of English-language Netflix films, “Don’t Look Up” is in second place with a combined 321.52 million streaming hours worldwide, behind “Red Notice” with 364.02 million. Since the period of the first 28 days after release is always compared here, and Adam McKay’s climate crisis analogy has only been online for just under three weeks, it even still has a little time to move up to the top spot. Where does The Witcher stand? In the latest measured period from January 3 to January 9, the new season of The Witcher can only reach third place with 57.34 million streaming hours – behind the new season Cobra Kai with 107.81 million hours and Stay Close with 91.18 million. Fresh episodes of Emily in Paris landed in fourth place with 50.54 million. However, it must be remembered that Geralt of Riva (Henry Cavill) lands in the top 10 for the fourth time in a row (previously it was usually in the top spot), while the competition started only recently. Thus, only The Witcher with the new season makes it into the eternal top 10 of English-language Netflix series. With 462.5 million hours, the season currently lands in ninth place, although it could still move up a bit (perhaps into the top 5). The opening season of 2019 has long since made itself comfortable there: 541.01 million hours at that time. The top spot belongs to Bridgerton with 625.49 million. Only Squid Game could do better as a non-English-language series with 1.650 billion hours.
